Lisa I. Perez is the President of human resources consulting company, HBL Resources, Inc. where she serves as a trusted advisor, trainer and/or consultant to small and large organizations including Virgin Hotels, The City of Coral Gables, Best Buddies & Brinks International to name a few.
Lisa is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management where she has held her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification since 2002 and holds the SHRM-SCP designation since 2015. She holds a Degree in Business Management, is a Certified BridgeBuilder® Trainer who facilitates Generational Diversity in the Workplace and is a DISC Certified Human Behavior Specialist.
Lisa has conducted breakout sessions, workshops and speeches on a variety of topics for SCORE, HR Associations and Chambers as well as for Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz' 2019 Small Business Workshop; the 2019 Broward & Beyond Conference Plenary Session, a Keynote Speaker for the Tamarac North Lauderdale 2019 Business to Business Expo, the 2019, 2018, 2017 & 2014 HR Florida State Conference, the 2016 HRABC Diversity & Inclusion Forum, the 2015 Modern Women in Business Summit, the 5th Annual Jim Moran Business & Leadership among others.
She is honored to have been recognized throughout her career with a Teacher of the Year Nomination from KAPOW, a 2019 Honoree at the 100 Successful Women in Business Conference, the 2018 ICABA Salutes HR Management Awards, 2015 peer nominated, Pinnacle Award from the Miramar Pembroke Pines Regional Chamber.
Prior to forming her consulting company, Lisa served as the VP of Human Resources for Tecton Hospitality/Desires Hotels; a Miami based hotel Management Company operating up to 21 hotels located in six states & Puerto Rico and was the Director of HR at the Bonaventure Resort & Spa in Weston, Fl., and the Director of HR for the 1,200-room Fontainebleau Hilton Resort in Miami Beach, Fl.
Originally, from Brooklyn, NY, she is a wife, mom to four daughters and a son and has one granddaughter. She loves scrapbooking and considers herself a craft geek.
Michael is the founder of CAS Assurance, LLC. He is a professional accountant and auditor with over 20 years combined experience in accounting, financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, auditing and information system security management in both private and public sectors. His work experience includes working as accountant for a group of companies, as banks auditor for more than six years, and as internal and IT auditor for the Miami Dade County government for more than nine years. While working at the banks, Michael's recommendations improved internal control and risk management in business processes in multiple divisions, including treasury, fund transfer, cash management, credit risk, information technology and security. And as a government auditor, Michael led and managed multiple performance and IT audits that resulted in the recovery of thousands of dollars for taxpayers and enhanced countywide information security management practice and business processes in multiple departments.
He is a CPA licensed both in the state of Florida and the Commonwealth of Virginia. He also holds the following globally recognized certifications: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and the AICPA issued Advanced SOC for Service Organizations Certificate. He is also a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor (Advanced), helping small and mid-sized entities to enable efficient and effective accounting systems. Michael holds two master's degrees – one in accounting and the other in information technology (major in information security management), both from Nova Southeastern University, Florida.
He delights in giving back to professional groups that have been instrumental to his professionalism. Michael was a board member for the South Florida chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) from 2012 to 2019 where he served as Director of Volunteer Activities, Director of Membership, Director-at-large, and Government and Regulatory Advocacy Coordinator. Michael has been a member of the Miami-Dade Toastmasters Club since 2008 where he has served as Treasurer, VP Education, and Club President, helping and mentoring members to achieve their goals of mastering public speaking and leadership skills.
