Dealing With Workplace Conflict

Interpersonal and inter-departmental conflict can reduce productivity and compromise business objectives. This program explores the nature of conflict and provides participants with skills and techniques for not only minimizing and resolving conflict but also integrating differences to move business forward. It includes role-play and exercises that allow employees to practice and refine their new skills.

Russell brings over 20 years of experience as a licensed clinician, consultant, crisis manager and certified executive coach. As a consultant, he works with both national and regional client groups across multiple industries, helping them address issues that impact organizational health and well-being. As a clinician, Russell is a licensed mental health counselor in New York, Florida, and California. His work with individual clients is based on positive psychology and focuses on developing a client’s sense of personal resiliency and working past old thinking patterns and behaviors. 

Russell is an EMDR trained and approved therapist through EMDRIA and works with clients (including firefighters and first responders) work past trauma that is negatively impacting their personal and professional lives. Russell also has extensive experience working with clients in the entertainment industry (both Above-The-Line, Below-The-Line and Music Artists) and has worked with the talent side in both scripted and unscripted content. 

Finally, as an executive coach, Russell works with mid-management to senior level leadership with organizational issues like strategy building, career development/transitions, performance management and leadership skill development (see addendum for more extensive description of entertainment industry experience).

Russell has been featured at over 30 HR and Industry Association groups since 2014. He most recently spoke at Paramount’s Global Annual HR Forum in Dec 2023 and Florida College Systems Council of Business Affairs Conference in June 2023, where he presented on the impact of burnout and emotional health issues in the workplace and the importance of implementing proactive wellness initiatives.

Dr. Carapella's journey began as a teacher while she pursued her Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse and her Doctorate of Education degree from Columbia University in human behavior.

She earned tenure as a professor at both Ithaca College and the State University of New York at Cortland, where she taught courses in diversity, human behavior, and health-related topics. At SUNY Cortland, Dr. Carapella was recognized for excellence in teaching, patented a digital health currency, and trained business leaders, school districts, and healthcare staff on innovative approaches to human behavior. At Ithaca College, she secured grants to study anxiety reduction through proactive gratitude, developed and marketed an app, and published three children's books along with 23 peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.


Dr. Carapella has delivered over 200 workshops and trainings, sharing her expertise on transformation and her scholarly work.
